Part of Timeless Elegance: Baccarat, Art Glass, Vintage Décor & More (timed auction by Lux Auctions)

High bid $622.00

Status: Sold

Category: Art Glass

The clear crystal "Diva" vase is the first Baccarat piece to have a sideways profile. Lying horizontally on its side, the vase is a chic piece with simple yet artful contours. Its unexpected and avant-garde silhouette reinvents expectations of design and invites the creation of compelling floral arrangements. The open cylinder of clear crystal cradles the floral bouquet and keeps it carefully in place, yet still gives the plants plenty of room to breathe. Additionally, this vase makes it possible to place a bouquet on the table and still be able to see the person sitting on the opposite side! It could also be used as a cornucopia, spilling forth collections of found items, objects of nature, or art. It is both a conversation piece and a work of impeccable craftsmanship. Currently available on the Baccarat website in this "medium" size (approx. 19.5" long) for $6000. Signed via cursive etching "Baccarat" on the side, and stamped on the bottom. This piece is in very good pre-owned condition - the crystal is smooth and shiny and reflects light very beautifully. No chips. There are 3 faint superficial scratches on the bottom surface. These appear more prominent when photographed on the black background, but are almost invisible on a white cloth. Made in France. Dimensions: 20.5" long x 10" wide at widest part x 6.5" tall. 3" wide at narrowest point. Weight: 11.6 lbs. Please see all photos for additional details. Flowers not included.
