Framed, "Sunset Sail" oil painting with palette knife, on canvas, signed by artist Alexander Antanenka (b. 1951, active in the USA),. A single white sail contrasts deep forest greens that overhang a reflected and nearly fluorescent sunset, all against the purple, craggy shadows of hillsides beyond. Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist. Frame measures 29" W x 19" H x 1.5" D, with a 23" x 11.5" image area. Please see all photos for more details. Antanenka was born in Brest, Soviet Union, and graduated at the top of his class at the Art Academy in Leningrad in 1978. The Chernobyl disaster claimed his parents, and it coverup politicized the artist, who then fled to Siberia. After the Soviet Union fell, he was free to exhibit his vibrant art to the world. <
