Framed "Meadows" 2019 oil painting on wood, made with pallete knife, signed inviolet paint by artist Alexander Antanenka (b. 1951, active in the USA), with Certificate of Authenticity. Small corner lifted or rubbed area shown. Black wood frame with eapresso twist and bead detail and canvas inset (a few marks on the wood shown) measures 19.5" W x 26.5" H x 1" D with a 10" x 13.5" image area. Antanenka was born in Brest, Soviet Union, and graduated at the top of his class at the Art Academy in Leningrad in 1978. The Chernobyl disaster claimed his parents, and its coverup politicized the artist, who then fled to Siberia. After the Soviet Union fell, he was free to exhibit his vibrant art to the world.
