Limited edition framed city park scene color lithograph signed by Impressionist painter and printmaker Harold Altman (b. New York 1924-2003). Altman is credited with being highly technical and one of the most influential American printmakers of the 20th Century. He made incredibly detailed etchings, as well, but the mat hugs this print too closely to see possible side impressions. He spent a third of his time in Paris, where he made his prints, and only once changing printers. The artist's name is signed in the lower right, and the penciled number 128/249 is on left. The frame measures 16.5" W x 19.5" H x 5.8" D with glass and an 8.75" x 12" image area. Please see photos for more detail. Harold Altman studied art at home and abroad, finishing his studies in 1952 at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris. His hazily outlined subjects stroll or picnic among lush city parks and dreamily imagined avenues of mature trees. He has earned fellowships and been exhibited around the world, and his works are found in most major museum collections. The Museum of Modern Art owns over 40 Altmans, while the Whitney and Brooklyn Museums each house over 50. Reserve: $385
