This is an ornately framed print of the famous poster by French artist Théophile Alexander Steinlen. It advertises milk made by Quillot Brothers in France's Vingeanne region. They shipped pasteurized (sterilized) milk to Paris families (A process developed by Louis Pasteur and used commercially for milk in 1894). Steinlen's daughter Colette was the model for the work. This piece is professionally framed in a carved gilt wood frame with a beaded element. The art is surrounded by a 1.5" gold mat which is in turn bordered by a gold metal fillet and a 2-1/4"  black glass mat. The piece is in very good condition - art lies flat, just a few very tiny specks in the black glass surround. Please see all photos for additional details. Dimensions: Frame is 18-3/4" w x 22-3/4" tall, Art opening is 7.5" x 10.5".
