Vintage romantic and pastoral wool tapestry printed and hand-needleworked in France, based on an 18th Century work by François Boucher and given a contemporary twist with a glossy, hot pink painted vintage wood frame. Artist Boucher (1703-1770), a favorite of Madame de Pompadour, created both paintings and tapestries and is the face of Rococo style. The tapestry edges can be seen under the loose Kraft paper dustcover and are printed with "F. Boucher" and (in French) "Made with tapestry wool." Frame is in very good vintage condition with a bit of gilt showing through at some points. It measures 35" W x 29" x 1.5" D with a 29.5" x 23.5" image area.
