Minnesota artist Derk Hansen captured a lone wolf on the move through a snowy forest in this hand-enhanced giclee print on canvas. Signed by the artist on the front and signed and labeled on the back "Artist Proof 1/95 Derk". The piece features the whites, icy blues and pinkish tones of a winter's day. Framed in a wood frame with a panel of gnarled wood surround, the frame also has an elegant dusty blue coved taffeta inset. Has a wire to hang by in the back. Condition - the canvas is vibrant and has a good sheen, with strokes of white applied for depth. There are numerous small cracks in the finish, especially in the area of the wolf's coat. The frame is in very good condition with just one tiny chip on the right blue edge. Please see all photos for additional details. Dimensions: Frame is 45.5" w x 35" tall x 1.75" deep. The canvas is 36" w x 22" tall. About the artist: Derk Hansen is a self-taught painter, originally from Germany. He emigrated first to Canada, and then to Minnesota in 1968, settling in Woodbury, MN.  An adventurous spirit, Derk has traveled with cattle drives in the West, safaris to Africa, explorations in New Zealand and Hawaii, and been a re-enactor at Northfield's Jesse James Days 35 times. He creates art where the spirit moves him, living a life some can only dream of.
