This limited edition serigraph, Orange Football, is signed by the artist, LeRoy Neiman (American, 1921-2012). The term serigraph comes from “seri,” which is Latin for “silk,” and “graphos,” which is Ancient Greek for “writing.”  This vintage piece depicts a football scene with the players mid-tackle as a referee runs toward the group. Hand-signed in pencil and numbered #70 /175. It is framed in a wood frame and triple-matted in teal, turquoise and white. Condition: very good vintage condition - lies flat, and the colors are rich. The wood frame has several knicks consistent with age. There is a wire on back for hanging. Frame measures 34.5" w x 28.5" tall and the art opening measures 25.5" w x 19.5" tall. A true collector's piece. Please view all photos for more details. The artist LeRoy Neiman is known for his brilliantly colored expressionist paintings and screen prints of athletes, musicians and sporting events.
