This large serigraph, Peaceful Cove, is by Don Hatfield. Don Hatfield (b. 1947) is a California artist who paints seascapes and figurative impressionistic work. The subjects of his work are often families in a relaxing atmosphere, such as the beach. The soft use of color combined with a superb sense of lighting lends itself to a feeling of peace. Don Hatfield is inspired by the works of Edward Henry Potthast, William Glackens, Maurice Prendergast, Joaquin Sorolla, and John Singer Sargent.  This piece depicts a mother and children fishing as they sit on rocks by the sea. Signed by the artist in pencil and numbered on front - #196/300. Framed in an antique silver-toned wood frame with a cream, linen-wrapped mat. Frame measures 45" w x 37" tall, and the art opening measures 33.5" w X 26" tall. Both the print and the frame are very good vintage condition. Please view all photos for more details.
