Behind him is a snow-laden pine tree. The piece is framed in a thick pecan frame, double matted with an outer burlap mat. The art opening measures 19" wide x 25" tall, and the frame measures 27.5" wide  x 34" tall x 2" deep. There is a wire for hanging. Frame and art are in very good condition - the kraft paper in back has tears in it. Paul Calle (1928-2010) was an American artist who was best known for the designs he created for postage stamps, including 40 that were released by the United States Postal Service, and others for stamps issued by the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, Sweden and the United Nations.
