This original signed oil painting on board is untitled, and is by American artist Derk Hansen. The image is a serene water scene with a Mallard duck couple floating amidst the reeds in sky blue water.  It is signed by the artist in the lower right. The board measures: 27.75" wide x 22" tall, and the gilded wood frame measures 35.5" wide x 30" tall  x 1.5" deep. The work is in very good condition - just a small chip on one frame corner. Derk Hansen is a self-taught painter, originally from Germany. He emigrated first to Canada, and then to Minnesota in 1968, settling in Woodbury, MN.  An adventurous spirit, Derk has traveled with cattle drives in the West, safaris to Africa, explorations in New Zealand and Hawaii, and been a re-enactor at Northfield's Jesse James Days 35 times. He creates art where the spirit moves him, living a life some can only dream of. Please view all photos for more details.
