This Mid-Century modern original painting is by American artist, Ray Oakvick.  This painting is a deep cocoa brown with a spray of dragon flies in cobalt blue and cream, with accents of thick black paint. In the artist's signature style the paint is applied with a palette knife, adding to its depth and texture. It is signed by the artist on the front as well as the back.  The piece measures: 24.5" H x 12.5" W x1.75" D. It is presented in a black slat frame with a wire for hanging and felt bumpers.  It is in very good vintage condition. Please view all photos for more details. Raydor “Ray” Oakvick (American, 1917-1993) was an artist from Minneapolis, MN. He was active in the 1960s, and owned his own gallery where he sold his paintings. Primarily, Oakvick used a palette knife for his compositions, working quickly and with bold, gestural strokes.
