This antique Victorian mourning bracelet is made of a 7.5" tightly woven round "rope" of chestnut brown hair. Two patterns of weaving knots were used. The rope has rose-colored metal end caps, a chain and toggle closure, and in the center a square locket hangs from a decorative metal piece. The locket has a diamond-patterned exterior and an etched plate of a seaside church. The locket opens to reveal two rounds where photos could be inserted. No hallmarks found. Very good antique condition - hair rope is very tightly woven. Hand polished, some tarnish remains. Dimensions: Bracelet length clasp to toggle: 10.5". Length of woven hair section: 7.5".
