This is a very delicate, antique hand-painted portrait pin with a surround of tiny seed pearls. A head and shoulders figure of a dark haired woman in a large hat has been painted, in colors, onto a 1" round. The reverse of the round has an iridescent mother-of-pearl finish. A frame of gold tone over silver holds the seed pearls in place. There is a convex, clear covering over the portrait. The back of the brooch has a pin and "C" clasp closure. Good antique condition - the portrait has faded and there is soil between the seed pearls. All pearls appear to be present.  Dimensions: 1" diameter. Wt: 5.3 g.
