This antique sterling bracelet is a Japanese Damascene Komai piece. This style of jewelry was created in Japan in the 1940's - flat steel plates are incised with ornate designs, which are inlayed with gold (often 24 k) and silver wire. This bracelet consists of 8 panels of detailed landscape scenes in gold and silver against a black background. Each silver panel has one object engraved on the back - an insect, a flower, a boat. The bracelet has a push-in clasp and safety chain, and is stamped "Silver". It measures 6.5" L and weighs 22 g. It is in very good vintage condition. Please view all photos for more details.
