This antique open-face pocket watch by American Waltham Watch Co. has a serial number of 6339024, indicating it was made in 1893 or 1894. The movement is stamped with the serial number and "Safety Barrel", as well as "American Waltham Watch Co.". The white face has two filigree gold-tone hands and a small second-hand circular area.  The face itself is very clean, and has a white background with a floral bouquet, black numbers, gilt embellishments and a scalloped pink border. Printed on the face is "A W.W. Co. Waltham". The case is stamped "Tornado IWC Co. 0974335" on the interior lid. The exterior is stamped "IWC Co. Base Metal". The back of the case is a screw-type piece. The watch is in good condition for age - the face is very clean, the crystal is clear with no chips, and the case is not nicked or dented. There is a crack in the enamel face surface near the number 7, and faintly near number 8. When wound, the second hand remained in motion over our 24-hour test period, but the large hands did not keep accurate time. The watch is 1-7/8" in diameter and weighs 64.4 g.
