This antique ladies open-face pocket watch by The American Waltham Watch Co. is in good working order. Based on the serial number stamped onto the inner movement (8389128), the grade is identified as "Seaside", the model is 1891, and literature online states the year produced is 1897. The watch has a Hunting movement configuration and has 7 jewels. The white face has black numerals and delicate gold filigree hands. A beautiful scalloped pattern of raised gold dots encircles the outer edge of the face, and the dots are also in the center, along with four red embellishments. Stamped on the inside movement is: "8389128, safety barrel". The case is a rosy gold, and made by the Crescent Watch Company. It is stamped on the case inside "Patented C.W.C. Co. PLANET Trademark, 872012". The watch is in its original emerald green velvet box. Very good antique condition - During our 48 hour test period, the watch was wound and worked well. The gold case is shiny with no major scratches - has a patina consistent with normal wear. The crystal over the watch face is quite scratched. The velvet on the outside of the box is mostly worn off, a hinge is loose, and the printing on the interior satin has worn away. Dimensions: 1-7/16" diameter x 1-7/8" tall including the top of the ring. The watch is on a 50" chain with a 3/8" round bejeweled ornament. The original box measures 3-3/4" x 3" x 1-1/8" deep. Please see all photos for additional details.
